How to Analyze Premier League Fixture Difficulty for LMS
Success in Last Man Standing requires looking beyond individual gameweeks. You need to understand the entire fixture landscape to make optimal decisions.
The Fixture Difficulty Framework
Step 1: Categorize Teams by Tier
Tier 1 - Elite (1-3): Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool Tier 2 - Strong (4-6): Aston Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea, Tottenham Tier 3 - Solid (7-12): Brighton, Fulham, Brentford, Manchester United Tier 4 - Vulnerable (13-17): Everton, Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Wolves Tier 5 - Struggling (18-20): West Ham, Burnley, Sunderland
Step 2: Assign Difficulty Scores
Difficulty Score = Opponent Tier + Venue Adjustment
- Home: -1 (easier)
- Away: +1 (harder)
Step 3: Map Gameweeks
Create a grid showing each team's difficulty score for upcoming gameweeks. Higher scores = easier fixtures = better LMS picks.
The 5-Week Look-Ahead Method
Before making any pick, analyze the next 5 gameweeks to identify critical weeks where options are limited and plan accordingly.
Fixture difficulty analysis transforms LMS from gambling to strategy.
